The Short Breaks team recently took a group of 26 carers, and their loved ones, on a VIP day out to The Scottish Crannog Centre in Kenmore.
The Crannog Centre donated the visit as a special thank you to carers for all that they do and the day ran alongside a celebration of the 10th anniversary of Respitality.
Travelling by coach from Perth, Norman (our driver from Docherty’s) illuminated us with interesting titbits of information as our journey progressed.
A welcome party awaited our arrival, and carers were instantly made welcome from the moment they stepped off the bus. They enjoyed a guided tour of the museum and spent time meandering around in the iron age village, taking in the displays, and enjoying the wonderfully sunny blue skies.
Attendees tried their hand at wood turning, jewellery making, weaving, pottery and enjoyed a special talk from one of the team currently building the new Crannog on Loch Tay. They also enjoyed a complimentary “broth and bread” lunch and refreshments - there was even Respitality birthday cake for them to enjoy!
Huge thanks to The Scottish Crannog Centre for their generosity, we’re look forward to working with them going forward!
